Community Board 14
Our local community board has an important advisory role in dealing with land use and zoning matters, the city budget, municipal service delivery, and many other matters relating to this communities’ welfare. Victorian Flatbush comprises most of the northern half of Brooklyn Community District #14. The Board is made up of community residents and leaders appointed by elected officials. It is led by longtime chairperson Alvin Berk.
The day-to-day operations of Community Board 14 are staffed by District Manager Shawn Campbell. They have many years of experience in resolving quality-of-life issues and in getting city agencies to respond to residents’ concerns. Before contacting city agencies directly, it is often useful to start at the community board.
The Board’s office is located at 810 East 16th Street (11230), south of Avenue H, next to the Avenue H train station. Phone: 718-859-6357; fax: 718-421-6077.
