FDC secures funding for and coordinates several capital improvements to revitalize commercial streets in Flatbush. Most recently, FDC completeda $1.5 million renovation project to complement the Newkirk Plaza reconstruction initiative. The project included a new brick-designed pavement, Victorian clock, banners, planters and benches. In 2008, FDC completed a $1.4 million Cortelyou Road streetscape project. Additionally, FDC operates an ACTION campaign that supports to the area existing business and attracts new merchants to the area.
