When Newkirk Plaza opened in 1910, it became the first open-air shopping mall in New York. Ever since it has served many generations of commuting Brooklynites and visitors with iconic businesses and the Q and B subway lines running below. Newkirk plaza is kept clean and vibrant by the Newkirk Plaza Merchants Association that partners with FDC to promote and service the needs of its small businesses. We plan public events and hold merchant association meetings to address business needs and quality of life issues. We welcome business owners, residents and public officials to support us
What We Do
When Newkirk Plaza opened in 1910, it became the first open air shopping mall in New York. Ever since, it has served many generations of commuting Brooklynites with mom and pop small businesses, and the B, Q subway lines running underneath.
The Newkirk Plaza Merchants Association ensures a clean, green and beautiful plaza to welcome neighbors to its many shops. As a member, we can help your business connect with over 52,000 neighbors through public events, marketing campaigns, and Holiday promotions. We hold merchant association meetings to address business needs and quality of life issues.
As a member you will have access to top quality business and government services and one-on-one support to help your business grow, understand city regulations to avoid costly fines, and provide your business with COVID-19 Recovery resources.
