It is so important to develop a one-to-one relationship with individuals living here. I grew up with the help of the Flatbush Development Corporation and I strive to give back to the community that gave so much to me!”

The Kingsborough Community Center, directed by Cassandra Norman, provides a safe space for the Kingsborough youth, based on their needs and requests. The space helps teens overcome their insecurities, fears, and peer pressure, and also provides them with the tools to deal in a healthy way with their (sometimes challenging) lives. Having grown up in the area and having worked her way up in FDC for over 10 years, Cassandra is the living embodiment of what this Community Center aims to achieve. It also offers recreational activities (for both teens and adults) such as dancing, bingos, brunches, a music studio, and much more!
